What you need to know about outdoor Kitchens in Canada

Outdoor kitchens are all the rage in tv shows and decorating magazines.  Of course, many of these have a focus in warmer climates. Here in Ontario how can we create an outdoor space that extends the season?   Here are some of the things we recommend:

1) An outdoor Fireplace using either wood or gas/propane fuel. These fireplaces can be constructed of materials like stone, stucco, wood and slate and provide a beautiful warm radiance to take the chill off any Spring or Fall evening.

2) Patio Heaters using gas/propane or electricity.  These freestanding heaters come in a variety of styles so that they can blend into your outdoor environment.  They  can be used alone or in combination with your outdoor fireplace.

3) Fully covered patio areas in combination with outdoor heating appliances can extend the season well into the Fall.   These covered areas offer winter protection for your grills, fireplace, furniture, hot tub and other equipment. From a design perspective these covered areas complete the look of a fully functional outdoor living space.
